Ideas Are Hot Commodities

there is a world out here where people get killed for their ideas.  a binary battle, an arena, where people die because of their ideas.  this world we spend so much time in is a distraction.  it is a cacophony of commerce and image, identity in the machine of purchasing power; purchasing cars, burgers, digital toys, and lipliner; purchasing sex, conviction, courage, friendship, and love; even trying to purchase love, purchasing love in the machine, one bit at a time.
these things keep us distracted from the [or ‘a’?  damn you, definite article!] world that requires courage.  a place where people can get killed for their ideas – death over ideas, killed because of ideas.  Gandhi, Martian Luther King, Jr., Huey Newton, Malcolm X, Steve Biko, Abraham Lincoln, Jesus, Socrates.
