today: i wouldn’t mind being a duck. [well, i wouldn't be able to tell the difference if i were.] ducks know where they fit in the world. humans are smart enough to imagine that they don’t fit into the world, that they exist apart from the world. this, i think, is the source of any wretchedness. it is also the source of great power.
